[Guide] Saga11: Ancient Ark

Akhirnya Master bikin guide buat Ancient Ark  T^T
Saya sebenernya udah bikin topic untuk hadiahnya, kalo dianggap ga perlu ada 2 topik untuk Ancient Ark, tolong digabung aja ya, para momod >.<

Lazy's guide to Ancient Ark

In my opinion, Saga 11 is the one Saga that adds the most interesting features to ECO. Not counting the entire 13 brand-new Chronicle jobs (job 3s) and the usual main story quest, this Saga introduces stamps awarded if you login everyday, deep equipment enhancement, various changes to the game system, and of course, many new maps: two Dimension Dungeons (Glacial Tunnel and South Dungeon), El ciel (the capital city of Titania World) and its related maps (three field maps and one instance dungeon), and finally, Ancient Ark, a gimmick-based instance dungeon that is the scope of today's guide. By doing Ancient Ark quests with your friends, you are rewarded various incredible pieces of equipment, and a chance to fight Rokuou, one of the hardest bosses in ECO.

You can check out the rewards for Ancient Ark in our Ring thread, courtesy of Esta: http://gate00.net/f/eco-live/emil-community-center/(tomodachi)-revelations-the-fourth-grail-war-resumes-in-april-2012!/msg652982/#msg652982

As usual, keep in mind that this is a preliminary guide, everything should be used as reference and future preparation only, because even not counting translation differences, changes are inevitable in the localization process.

    The basics

Ancient Ark (henceforth abbreviated AA) is a series of instance dungeons (InsD), with time limits for its maps and requires a party to enter. It is located at Northern Promenade (between AA and job 3 quests, North Prom will finally become an active city again, at least for the few weeks right after Saga 11's implementation), in form of a dark red colored portal in a corner of the city. You need at least 50 fame to do any of the quests. The mentioned dark red portal takes you to AA lobby, there are 10 different lobby maps (you can choose which one to enter). Each lobby has a limit on how many people can do the AA quests, I'm not sure exactly how many but if the lobby is full, then you cannot take any quest in there (you can still enter just for fun), so make sure you and your friends all enter an empty enough lobby.

Welcome to Ancient Ark, please enjoy your stay.

Inside the lobby, you can pick up AA quests, which are officially called Captures. You cannot pick up captures without a party. Only one party member needs to accept the capture (costs 1 quest count), however whenever a party member enters the InsD, they'll lose 1 quest count as well, so basically everybody needs 1 quest count each. Most importantly, all party members must be within the lobby when the capture is taken, otherwise those who are still outside will not be able to enter the InsD even if they're in your party.

Just like with any other InsD, breaking the party means the dungeon will be destroyed as well. Furthermore you'll need to accept the capture again (and thus everyone will waste another 1 quest count).

Each capture requires you to go through three red portals, each of which takes you down one floor. In other word, except for one boss-fight capture, all the other captures require you to go through three floors. There are several important things to keep in mind about those red portals:

◊    If one party member passes through a red portal to get to the next floor, all other party members are also automatically warped to the next floor.

◊    Even currently dead party members are also warped to next floor that way.

◊    Party members who are outside the InsD are not warped (obviously).

◊    Passing through a red portal ejects all active posses.

It should also be noted that if the host dies, their active posses are also ejected immediately, making things even more challenging.

On most floors there are also blue portals that take you to different sections of the map. Most maps are incredibly big, and thus are divided into sections connected by those blue portals. Similar to ruins, you can hit Ctrl + W to view the floor map and check everybody's current location. Depending on the map's clear requirements and gimmicks, your party should decide whether to stick together to play it safe, or scatter around to clear the map faster.

Books. Books everywhere.

Upon passing through 3 red portals, you'll be taken to the reward room. Reward is not given as you turn in the quest, instead, at the reward room there will be chests, breaking those chests will give out reward items as party drops. Rewards are extremely random, you can get anything from Jerico to ultra-rare gears, of course what you get also depends on which capture you completed. Make sure everybody has looted their drops before hitting a different chest, to make it easier to control the drops. You are only given 5 minutes to get your rewards, after that the dungeon will be destroyed automatically.

There are a total of 10 captures, the last two (subjugating Rokuou and gathering fragments for Chronicle job armors) are added in Saga 12. The first 8 captures correspond to the 24 floors of AA and follow a pattern: capture #1 requires minimum lv30 and has you clearing AA floor 1~3, capture #2 - lv40 and AA floor 4~6, capture #3 - lv50 and AA floor 7~9, and so on, until capture #8 - lv100 and floor 22~24. Those are just minimum levels, so even a lv110 can pick up the floor 1~3 capture.

Similar to Maimai ruins series of quests, you have to have cleared one capture in order to move to another (with the exception of the Chronicle armors capture), so you can't jump straight to floor 22~24 unless somebody in your party can take that capture. Everybody can join any capture simply by being in party, so if you do AA with a group of friends, it's best that you decide one person as the "capture taker" who will take all the AA quests while the rest just follow suit. Of course, it's kind of clumsy.

    Eight exploration captures

The 8 captures that require you to explore AA 3 floors per capture all have 60-minute time limit. Each floor has different M.Clear (map clear requirement, needed to go to next floor) and R.Clear (room clear requirement, needed to go to next room within the same floor), as well as Gimmick (special effects that may either support or, most of the time, hinder your process). You can check them easily anytime from your quest window.

M.Clear and R.Clear have some patterns:

◊    Light certain candles: within the map, there will be candles that can be toggled lit/unlit by hitting once. The easiest one is to light all candles, but you might also be asked to light the candles in a certain order, light only 1 correct candle (lighting the wrong one summons monsters or reduces your time limit), light candles using a certain race, and light candles using a certain job. Don't worry, you will only be asked to use the races/jobs that are available in your party.

◊    Defeat certain number of certain monsters: piece of cake.

◊    Let certain time pass by: just stay and wait for a set amount of time, anywhere from 15s to 5 min, and the portal will automatically appear. However, if there are other requirements, you must also finish them first.

◊    Others (defeating bosses, etc.)

Gimmick can also be categorized roughly into some patterns:

◊    Using skills decreases time limit.

◊    Defeating monsters decreases time limit.

◊    Prevents possession: really annoying. I assume it only affects active posses, though.

◊    Exp x1.5: monsters in AA don't give very good exp, but this kind of helps.

◊    Others.

There is no Gimmick in boss rooms except for one, so you can usually just focus on fighting the bosses normally.

Dem maps.

    Floors 1~3 and 4~6

Really really easy. Monsters on those floors are just random normal momonz taken arbitrarily from various maps in all three worlds. If your party consists of high level people then those two captures are pretty much a joke.

    Floors 7~9

Full of different colored ghosts, most of which are Dark element. On floor 9 you'll fight one of the 3 bosses, Blue Ghost King or Red Ghost King or Ghost King. The first nulls all magic attacks, the second has incredibly high left Def, the third uses Alter Zero.

    Floors 10~12

Monsters include a bunch of player-shaped monsters, as well as boxes, jars, treasure chests, and Breadfruit trees (nonsense). Most of the time due to the Gimmick, breaking those things will randomly teleport you to a random spot on the map, making these floors really FUN to do.

They may look like players, but they lack fashion sense.

On floor 12 you'll fight the bosses, three Doppelganger. They look exactly the same like you, but compared to the dreadful Unknown, they still have a long way to go.

    Floors 13~15

On floor 13 you'll find mushrooms that when hit will give you stats boosts (increasing HP, MP, SP) buuuuuuuut you don't need to even touch them at all, because in rooms with mushrooms, the blue portal to the next room are already present at the beginning without the need to do anything else. All monsters on this floor are either Fire or Water element.

On floor 14 you'll run into Suiou (Water King) which looks like a Mermaid, buuuuuuuut you don't have to defeat her either, since once again the warp portal is already right there, so you can just ignore her and go to the next floor. However, defeating Suiou extends your time limit, she may very rarely drop Bubus, and sometimes she drops Water King's Torn Paper, which is needed to fight Rokuou. All 6 elemental King in AA have a chance to drop those King's Torn Paper (better chance with knowledge), you need to gather all 6 to fight Rokuou. So if you feel like getting wet, go ahead.

Suiou being sexy.

On floor 15 is the boss, Giant Bomb Spider, which nulls nearly ALL attacks (even Eraser and Forcemaster have no effect!) and to defeat it, you must lure the spawned Ancient Bomb Spider close to the boss and let them explode, dealing damage to the boss and yourself (but you can heal, the boss can't). Alternatively, Royal Dealer, Bloody Weapon and Grass Trap can be used to quickly defeat the boss as well if you have them.

Mother spider.

    Floors 16~18

Tiny heaven. Monsters here include Tiny, Dumpty, Tiny wearing diaper, Tiny wearing cool clothes, Tiny riding locomotive, player-shaped monsters cosplaying Tiny, and even something... so weird words cannot explain.

What is this I don't even

On floor 17, you need to find the Detective Tiny who will tell you to search for and defeat the "culprit" (which is one randomly chosen kind of monster). Next you'll fight Raiou, the big bad boss whom everybody knows, and just like Suiou, you can choose to skip him or fight for drops (most importantly Thunder King's Torn Paper) and extended time limit.

Floor 18 has one of the two bosses, Jumbo Tiny or Great Tiny. The former is a normal boss, but the latter is incredibly strong, however on the same map with him there is a Power Up Machine, destroying that machine sharply reduces Great Tiny's abilities and you can beat him easier.

    Floors 19~21

This is where things start getting serious, almost everything is now boss fights. These floors also feature monsters from floors 7~9 (the ghosts) and 10~12 (player-shaped monsters). On floor 19, you'll fight either Nenoou (Root King, looks like Mandragora) followed by 3~5 Doppelganger, or En'ou (Fire King, looks like Salamander) followed by 2~4 Ghost King. As usual, Nenoou and En'ou can be skipped if desired, or fought for their King's Torn Paper. Doppelganger have very high HP, so you'll need to keep your damage output high. The type of Ghost King you fight are random, most of the time you'll run into both Blue and Red at the same time, thus you need a party capable of dealing both physical and magic damage.

Moving on to floor 20, you'll fight either 1~2 Jumbo Tiny or 1~2 Giant Bomb Spider or 1 Great Tiny, just apply the same strategy you've used before to beat them. Floor 21 is a royal pain: you have to beat the boss, Metal Demon, but despite being a boss room, you will randomly get one of the two Gimmick pattern: either "Cannot use normal attack after certain time has passed," or both "Cannot possess after certain time has passed" AND "Cannot use items after certain time has passed" at once. Either way, you should defeat the boss as fast as possible before the Gimmick kick in and handicap you significantly, which is easier said than done because the boss is Dark element and has superb defense, as well as spamming Essengeist which reduces player's MP and SP while healing himself at the same time. Unexperienced players will shed tears here.

Metal Demon. Looking futuristic there.

    Floors 22~24

Floor 22 is a grand maze, the first room is normal, but after that, each room will appear to be one dungeon map: Garden of Oblivion entrance, Continental Cave B5F, Undead Castle Prison, Meiou's Forest, Saint's Room, Kouou's Room. The order you need to go is randomized each time, going through the wrong portal kicks you back, wasting a lot of precious time. You'll run into Meiou in his forest room and Kouou (Light King, looks like a white Umbrella) in her room, as usual you can beat (to get their King's Torn Paper) or skip them. There is a switch in Saint's Room, again random location, you must press that switch to proceed.

Kouou. Now where's that fanart of Wendy in loli form...

Floor 23 is completely empty except for the warp portal to last floor, this is where you can take a breather... not! Time is running out! So go, quickly, to floor 24 and fight the boss, Lord of Ancient Ark. This boss looks like an oversized Maoa, and is obviously incredibly tough. It summons four Ancient Pit of 4 colors - Red, Blue, Yellow and Green - each with their respective element (as for the Lord, it's Light). They can deposs, spam Tsunami, causes Poison, Stone, Confusion, and worst of all, casting Black Rose Thorn on themselves. All I could say is good luck.

He who Awakens at the End of Forgotten Time

Added in Saga 12, this quest requires you to have completed all previous 8 AA exploration quests. Furthermore, the capture taker must have at least one of each of the 6 King's Torn Paper. The quest requires defeating Rokuou in 30 minutes.

Know Rokuou. Know fear.

Rokuou is very hard, no kidding. While he might not do the most damage, he has skills that may completely screw up your well-laid battle plan. He summons four minions, which can only be either 2 Proto Suiou and 2 Proto En'ou, or 2 Proto Nenoou and 2 Proto Raiou, or 2 Proto Kouou and 2 Proto Meiou. Those Proto King all have about 200k HP, and are as powerful as their full-form counterparts, if not stronger. Rokuou summons them again whenever any of them is down.

Rokuou himself has the following skills:

◊    Normal attack: Rokuou swipes with his claws. Powerful and high critical rate, but nowhere near Emil Dragon Arma's level.

◊    Sechste Strafe: Rokuou casts all six elemental Storm spells one after another (Fire > Water > Wind > Earth > Light > Dark). Extremely powerful, each hit is about strong as an Anima Drain.

◊    Decrease Impact: Rokuou charges at player, dealing massive damage and causing Decrease Weapon and Decrease Shield debuffs at once. This means elemental advantages won't work well against Rokuou.

◊    Alter Fate: Rokuou casts random elemental Weapon and Shield on himself. Pretty much pointless since he also uses Decrease Impact as well.

◊    Alter Zero: Rokuou nulls all elemental damage. Again, pointless since you'll be forced to deal Neutral damage due to Decrease Impact.

◊    Resurrection: Rokuou revives with full HP when his HP drops to 0. Like Raiou, he uses this twice. His base HP is 4.5 million, but due to this skill, in reality he has 13.5 million HP in total, higher than anything ever seen before.

◊    Seelegericht: Rokuou's worst skill, an user-centric 5x5 AoE that cancels all posses, removes all buffs and debuffs (ie. Banishment), while causing Silence and Stun. It always hits with 100% success chance. Can be reflected, but by doing so you'll also remove any debuff given to Rokuou. The deposs can be blocked by Guardian's Soul Protection skill.

Cardinal with Samba and Sacred Embrace, Forcemaster with Divine Barrier are, as usual, must have for defense. Offense-wise, Royaldealer with Damage Marking is critical for success. Gladiator with Ekviry doing normal attack or Hawkeye with Hawkeye and Tempest Shot are the strongest physical hitters who should be supported from inside with Eraser's Efficus and Maestro's Flame Heart. As for magic damage, due to the lack of element advantage, no class can outdamage Forcemaster on this field. It is also recommended that one or two player(s) tank the Proto King mobs - a Guardian is perfect for this job.

Suggested strategy: right after entering the boss room, Forcemaster casts Invisible, then everybody runs to the corner of the room opposite of Rokuou. Over there, start preparing posses and buffs. Have the minion tanker(s) go ahead first and tank both Rokuou and the Proto King, once everybody is ready, move ahead and start getting aggro from Rokuou. Afterward, it's the same usual strategy of enduring and dealing damage. If possible, stay out of Seelegericht's AoE. You have to be fast, since 30 minutes is definitely not plenty.

Once you defeat Rokuou, the red portal will appear. You can ignore the remaining Proto King and proceed straight to reward room.

À la recherche de l'héritage perdu

Also added in Saga 12, this is a simple 3-floor capture that only Chronicle jobs can accept, and the rewards are fragments that are used to turn into job 3 level 30 armors. Note that the first time you pick up this capture, you must talk to the three NPCs Barn, Klohne and Foll in AA lobby before you can enter the InsD. You don't need to have done any other capture before, as long as you're a job 3 you can take the capture.

Most of the rooms are a breeze, the Gimmick require you to destroy certain chess pieces or light up candles in order to proceed, just do exactly as what it says and everything will be alright. The only monsters in this InsD are various sizes of Ko-Niggurath, cute chubby monsters who look like... Bubus Emil. The boss which you fight on floor 3 is Shub-Niggurath, it's lv80 and has 3,666,666 HP. Compared to Rokuou or even Metal Demon or Lord of Ancient Ark, it's nowhere as difficult. The boss drops fragments itself, there is no reward room for this capture.

Shub-Niggurath: "I-it's not like I'm trying to be cute for your sake or anything!"

    Conclusion

Ancient Ark is a very well-done dungeon, you are sure to have fun moments, tough moments and rage moments here when doing the captures. This is also one of the ultimate challenges in cooperation between players - will you be able to find seven friends willing to share the challenge with you? Everything is up to you...

Jadi nanti gini, kita ngambil Q lantai 1-3. Setelah selesai, kita dikeluarin dari dungeon. Setelah itu kalo kita mau masuk lagi bisa langsung mulai dari lantai 4 dengan ngambil Q 4-6.

Those are just minimum levels, so even a lv110 can pick up the floor 1~3 capture.

ini syarat level buat ambil q? atau batasan buat semua anggota party??... kasian yg udah rebirth kalo batasan lvl untuk semua anggota party :p

http://www.econline.jp/news/information/20101117_2.html
Scroll down (or Ctrl+F) to 実装日 and you'll see the date 18/11/2010.

SAGA 12 was implemented on 16/12/2010 (http://www.econline.jp/event/saga12/).

You do the maths o3o.

Then again, AA was installed three months following SAGA 11. If we follow what they did, then our AA should also come sometime after idECO implements SAGA 11 =3

Yg saga 12 itu Rokuou dan Shub-Niggurath (Q buat 3rd Job lv30 Equipment) .
